do they make ones that dont make so much noise??? ive put 3 of them in this past week and all make hell of noise sounds like a loose rocker arm put when i unplug the pcv there is no noise, its driving me crazy any help would be appreciated

yeah when i get home tommorrow from work ill pop a picture of it i have the 1805 eldbrock carb previous owner has the pcv hooked up front on the the carb my carb dont have the pcv vent in the rear ect , im thinking its getting to much vacumm and thats why its so noisey but i dunno 2+2 ill make sure to get the picture for everybody to see tommorrow

pcv goes from valve cover to a port on the intake,not on the carb

you can hook it up to the carb as well. edelbrock carbs have the huge port in the front for it. I prefer that to any intake runner as that usually steals air from a single cylinder.
too much vacuum is not possible for a PCV. A PCV regulates, however if the ball in there is running from one side to another like mad they can crete noise.

what happens if you slightly rev the engine? what cam are you running? are you sure you have the valves adjusted properly? is there a vacuum leak somewhere? and if you attach a vacuum gauge to the vacuum port you are using, is the vacuum steady or is it bouncing like mad?

yeah its the one that it called for back in 65 lol engine has been modified but to what extent i dunno previous owner built it and wouldnt give me specs on it lol we r tearing it down in oct it only has 2,400 miles on it but i want to stick a different cam in it and make sure everything is done right, anybody can slap good parts in a motor but if not properly built right and with the proper clerances, im sure stuff wasnt done right cus the oil pan leaks and front timing chain cover leaks a tad also so im purrty sure its not done the right way lol

PCV's are spring operated and provide minimum flow at idle, and max flow at high speed. If it's chattering like a lifter, check to see if the hose going to the carb is collapsed. I ended up replacing mine with 3/8 hard line and used a small piece of hose to complete the connection at both ends. If the chatter continues you've got the incorrect PCV valve or your idle is off because your eng vacuum and PCV are competing with each other making the check valve bounce up/down.

yeah thats what it sounds like is a chattering kinda like a lifter, hose is a tad loose ( or what i call loose) i will try replacing the hose and go from there, i still havnt got the pic of it will make sure tomorrow night i do and get it up loaded to show ya guys and gals. im sure it may be just a loose connection cuz i can hear it over my load electric fan lol

Check your breather to see if it's clogged with oil (The oil fill cap on the other valve cover is also a breather and should have a clean filter).
The breather is where clean air gets pulled into the engine from the PCV hose vacuum. If this is not
working, your PCV won't work properly and you'll also get oil leaks. New air has to come from somewhere to replace the vacuum.
