I have a c4 auto trans installed in a 66 mustang. I just figured out with a little research that the trans is 1974 or newer, but still c4. My question is about the correct neutral safety switch. The wiring harness matches up to the 66, but could have been modified when trans was swapped. I have been driving with this set up for awhile now and the car will start up, but shuts off in gear or reverse. starts up in park or neutral. I guess its the switch. anyway, I just need to know the correct switch and if it will matter if I go with a switch for a 66. I see different connections from split pair of wires to a cube type connection. Prices also range from 50 to 100 for some c4 switches. Any help would sure help??
