Default Need advice on my 1st project

Hey guys, sorry for the newb question but I am looking at starting my first project and I am in the process of looking for the right car. I found this body for sale, the seller wants 500 for the body Which has no engine or tranny. Is this worth trying to restore? Thanks and any help would be great

any old mustang is worth 500, but dang, Unless your Chip Fooze you should start with something a little more there.

Hmmmm, have you checked for rust or body damage?
I agree that most any mustang is worth $500, but if the frame rails are rotted out, thefloor pans are gone, and the cowl is shot, it might be too much trouble for your first project.

If the underside isn't rotted away, it's worth that. I can see $500 worth of parts. It all depends on your imagination.

If you can look at this car

and see this car

then you are all set.

Wow that's quite a transformation. Looks like it's in Europe (seeing the car in front of the stang) and over there the pickings are slim to begin with. Seems like most people here in the states would pass that car up.

If you're looking for a cheap project car, it depends on your welding skills more than where to look.

That same car "during":

If the rest of the body looks as good as that one side and the frame is good,...$500.00 is a pretty great price. The old, "Mustang hidden in a barn sale", gotta love it.

Don't worry about the floors being rusted,..thats par for the course, you'll need need to learn to MIG.

Keep in mid, depending on what you want to do with the car and its restoration,...all the small items will nickle and dime you to death if you're looking for a full on restoration. If so, then you will be much waiting for a much more complete starter.

Let us know what you do!

5 lugs on the wheels = get it

these days you can build a mustang from brand new aftermarket parts = get it

$500 bucks even if you start and quit = excellent experience and education = get it

I don't think anyone would pass a fastback up in the states these days, of course it depends on the price, and the sanity level of the seller.
