Quick question for the ones that voted for R&P. That's power R&P or regular? there's a 1500 price difference and this is one of my future upgrades. Is manual R&P a huge improvement over factory manual steering? or should i just keep saving for power R&P?

I just ordered the pertronix II and the flamethrower coil including the Pertronic wires. I have decided by reading the forums to use the Autolite copper's and a .040 gap. What I have not seen is any recommendation for the proper spark plug part number. I have a 1968 289 - 2V - C4
Any advice would be great.

I posed the question to Pertronix support. They do not recommend any plug in particular, but said to use what the OE recommends. I installed the Pertronix system just last night, and it is working great. It made a significant difference in ease of starting/idling/ etc.

Port-matching would cost you a gasket set. Even with the stock manifolds, you'd see an improvement.
289/302 Cylinder Head Port Matching
The Arning/Shelby drop is pretty cost-effective, too.
Arning/Shelby Suspension Drop
That cam you mention is the C9OZ-C. Fella near here used one with a little port matching, and Edelbrock 600 carb with RPM manifold, stock distributor tuned to BOSS 302 specs. Turned 323 hp on the dyno. That's what I call a low-budget beast.
