Default Overseas Mustangs - Exotic gems of the East!

I was diggin thru some cabinets last night and found an old photo album... The first set was taken at a car show on the naval base in Yokouska Japan. The second set is from Subic Bay in the Philippines.

Anyways, these shots are about 18 years old... Enjoy!

I was the band director at Yokosuka High School just a few years ago. Those are some nice shots. Thanks for sharing.

I was stationed in Yokosuka Naval Base for 6 years, excellent years there. The pics look pretty cool, thanks iclutch for the pics.

No kidding! It really is a small world!

Were the JN's still holding silent protests outside the main gate every weekend? They used to protest the base because they thought there were nuclear reactors all over the place. It cracked me up when we would leave the gate because the protesters were so polite and friendly to us. Strange nation. One thing I was really impressed with was the honesty over there. You could drop your wallet in the local McDonalds and come back an hour later to find it sitting on the counter waiting for you. It would even still have your cash in it!

Nice place to visit, but I'm glad I'm back!

C!

Yeah, they were still holding their protests just two years ago when I was there. Of course, we have no nuke vessels there, not even the flat top. They have closed all the gates except the front gate, and security is pretty high, so it takes awhile to get on and off base. I hated driving there. It is so crowded. I had a Nissan Skyline that I dearly loved, but alas, you couldn't drive it up to its potential until 2 in the morning out on the toll way.
