By all means, do it. Even if you don't take your Stang. Car shows are a real hoot. If you decide to enter your car, then be expecting a lot of politics, etc. and you have to learn a lot about the rules, but hey,.......it's still fun to see other cars.

Car shows are great!
Especially if your car is not finished... You can find all kinds of help and advice on everything you need to do to your car. The people there will know where the good and the bad shops are. You will get better ideas on what you want to do to your car... Awesome resource!
I go to at least a couple cruises and usually a show every week. People are friendly and happy to help. -Just remember to NEVER touch someone else's car without permission. Not even the paint!
In progress cars actually get a lot of attention at shows. People like to see the unrestored state, and they will be more impressed with you after your ride is finished.
Have fun and take pictures!
