Default 1968 Mustang oil pressure send

Hi to all! Does anyone know if the 68 mustangs requires the oil pressure sending unit extension rod plus the sending unit itself.

Mine has the extension and my resto book shows it that way

Thanks for your reply. Is your sending unit the larger style unit (about 2" diameter). The reason I'm asking is the oil pressure gauge isn't working properly, I have check the gauge itself and its OK. The catalog to order a new sending unit shows a different type or larger unit than what is on the car now. So, I guess the unit on now is the wrong type. Just thought someone would know what the factory unit should be. Thanks in advance for all replies.</P>
