Default Fuel injector hose vs regular hose

So I replaced my regular hose with fuel injector hose. I know that you should not run regular hoses on a fuel injected car because of the amount of pressure that that the hose needs to withstand. But what about vice versa since my car is carbed? I don't see an issue with this, but someone told me I should not do it. Does anyone have any insight on this matter? Thanks!

it should be a problem running the hose on a carbed car..its a good idea to change out all the gas hoses because the new ethanol laced fuels will quickly eat old rubber hoses

My local Oreilly store just dropped regular fuel hose and only carries injection hose because it can be used on any gas-powered engine. Somewhat more expensive, but works fine.

no technical problems with using the FI hose ( except it costs more)

Are you sure it's FI hose, or simply CARB hose? The new CARB-approved Gates Barricade hoses are beefier, but not set up for fuel injection. They also come on a dark green roll, which is similar to the light green roll the fuel injection hoses come on. The company recently stopped carrying the older non-CARB-approved hose in most stores, but every store should still have plenty of low-pressure Barricade hose on hand.

Fuel injection hose is expensive. CARB-approved hose is more than non-CARB hose, but still much cheaper than FI hose.

I carry all of the hose options at my store. Most customers that need low-pressure fuel hose don't need (and don't want to pay for) the new Barricade hose. It's only "required" on 1986+ carbureted vehicles. It is a little hardier than the standard stuff, but the standard low-pressure hose still works fine in most situations, and is still ethanol-resistant. Ozone will eat the outside of the hose away before you have to worry about the inside drying up and cracking.
