Opentracker Racing Products

And yeah, living in a shoebox in Davis. I work in West Sacramento, though.

I have it too. I think mine looks like James's. Make sure you grease it really good, and it should work fine.

Very intersting subject here.

The "New" idlers pictured are Moog idlers, or versions of that available at all discount Auto Parts, Same piece, the 65 66 JamesW has--Who Knows??

None of these have the teeth to return to center, all originals had this provision.

Now there are folks that say this is necessary to get the center return on the 65-70, or is this not necessary?

If you folks that run these , NON TEETH, are satisfied good. That makes the teeth thing a item that does not need to be applied.

Need imput here, Necessary, Non Necessary??

Read the issue about the idler, other posts are rampant.

Well, my return-to-center function is definitely decreased since installing the arm. I knew this might be an issue going into the swap, so it doesn't bother me as much.

I am fine with losing return to center function. Although, I did think about it... My car originally had PS, but I wanted to go manual. We'll see how she drives when she is on the road again.

I wouldn't say its "lost," just reduced at low steering angles. It's more noticeable at low speeds, although it does require a bit more attention on the freeway to keep the car from following ruts in the road and such.

Actual turning is fine. But if I'm going 20mph and I nudge the wheel 90* (I have a 5-turn box), it's not really apt to return to center. It's fine for me, but I wouldn't do the mod on a car I let my gf drive often.
