Install a USA-66 radio???
I'm working on installing a USA-66 radio in my '66 convertible. Trying to figure the best way to wire it.
The orange constant power wire I've read can be plugged into a 3 way plug in the dash near the cigarette lighter. I've found that plug.
However, I can't find a plug for the red "ignition" switchable wire for the radio. Anyone know where or if it plugs into the wiring harness?
Thanks,
Dennis

car radios usually have a switched and unswitched voltage requirement. one wire goes to the bat hot all the time (cigar lighter power wire is a good place for that power. The other wire goes to ign sourced power and that can be tricky. For the 66 that wire is the black-green stripe wired out of the center post of the ign switch. it feeds the fuses blocks. be sure to wire the correct sized fuses into both circuits. (the radio should have one on it. If either power wire isn't fused. i recommend you install it on the fused side of the power block. blue-red wire and black red wire.
