67 Driver side seat belt bolt hole repair. Ideas?
When going to replace my seat belt bolts, I found the driver's side seat belt bolt (rocker panel side) stripped. That explains why the bolt turned out so awkwardly.
As you know, the bolt hole is very close to the floor. Using the T-handle on the tap set would be impossible. (assuming there is enough metal left to tap new threads)
I guess I could fit a small socket on the end of the tap, and try and turn it in that way.
Has anyone had to deal with this? Any suggestions for a solid repair? If it can't be tapped, I'm also going to need some ideas.
Thanks in advance!!

Tapping it probably wouldn't work anyway, since the new threads would need to be bigger to get a good cut on the metal; and that causes issues with the seat belt anchor bolt.
Maybe try to just use a grade 8 bolt and nylock nut.
That location is actually an engineered point, it's designed to hold a given load over a given duration.
