You need a disc m/c for disc brakes, the drum m/c won't work right.

When I bought the parts to convert the front disks, it came with a power booster MC, which I can't really use with my low vacuum engine.
Is there a non-power MC option that would swap out easily, or am I headed towards bending new brake lines anyway?

Is this the switch in question?

That's the actual switch itself, but the parts the fail are inside the distribution block. There's a piston that contacts on the pin coming out of the switch. When the piston moves it triggers the switch to turn the brake light on. The switch itself is not what typically fails, it's usually the piston and related parts inside the distribution block.

It has been many moons but I believe what I used was a remanufactured master cylinder from a mid-70's F150 w/manual brakes and didn't do any brake line bending.

I found some threads calling out a 1974 Maverick non-power disk/drum mc that did the trick. May be worth a try in the future.
I don't think it affect the stupid dash light though.
