Default Help Please

I am wanting to buy a 65-68 Mustang. I plan on doing a complete ground up restore. I have found a couple that I am interested in but need some help with one of them.

I found a 66 for a very good price, it is missing the drive train but that is fine with me. But it has a body crack on the passenger side rear panel. My question is will a good body shop be able to work with this or should I find a different car?

Here is a couple picture of the crack:

Thanks all for the help

or just buy a whole new panel and have it welded in. I would think either repair or replace is a valid choice. Is there a lot of rust? If the metal is solid I dont see why it would be difficult to repair

Thanks guys. I have not actually gone to look at it yet. Before I did I wanted to make sure this is something that is repairable/replaceable.

My thought was just to replace it, where is a good place to find a replacement panel? Sorry for the stupid questions, I am a noob to the classic car world.

Thanks

If you plan to do a ground up restore you've got your work cut out for you thats for sure.
By the way the rear quarter panel just doesn't unbolt like the fronts do.

npdlink.com is a good place to start. There are many others as well

i never replace an original panel that can be saved . . they are only orig once and the repo stuff often fits poorly . . NPD sells sheet metal . . most other places sell dynacorn.
