Does the front brakes have this retainer star on them? When I looked a some dirgrams, they show it. But if you notice, it doesn't have the off-set for it. My back brakes have them on it but the fronts didn't.

Barnett....why not use cork?

Thing I'm going to put it back together. Reason being is cause I can't get the brake pad retainer and the springs & emergency cable on the stud all at one time.
Doesn't look like there has been one on it in a while.

Still looking for a answer for the brake pad retainer clip. Do all 4 brakes have this star-like retainer or just the back.

.
yes, all 4 wheels get the retainer . . it keeps the brakes in line so they re-seat properly on the pin.

Barnett, look at the above pic. The stud doesn't have the off-set on the stud. Also the retainer will not fit on the stud. It will go over the small outer keeper point but stops at the shoulder that the ends of the pads ride on. On the back shoes there is a off-set that the retainer rides on. Is the retainers different for the front & back? The holes in the retainer different sizes
