Default My new Seatbelts

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a new set of seatbelts from CJ's Pony and am over the moon with the upgrade.

Almost since I have first owned the fastback I have been using the set of factory 3 point seat belts from the same 1972 Mustang that I pulled the seats out of. While they do offer greater safety than just a lap belt that came standard on the 67-68, the big drawback is that once you're cinched in, you're not moving because the shoulder belt is fixed into place so they get uncomfortable pretty quick.

I have been keeping my eye out for a set of new seat belts for a long time but just couldn't bring myself to go with a setup that looks like it came out of a 1985 Brand X or that has the blingy 3 bar pony emblem because that's just not my style.

While perusing CJ's website I stumbled across this set of repops with the receivers that look almost identical to the factory belts, black with the starburst buttons and bit. They weren't exactly cheap, but this isn't exactly a cheap hobby anymore and these are exactly what I wanted.

A problem with the factory mounting point for the shoulder harness is that it is at an angle that runs right across my jugular and I knew there had to be a solution for that. I found one in the comments section of CJ's webpage where I bought the belts. A fellow posted up his solution of using the seat belt guides from a *shudder* 2000 - 2002 Camaro or Firebird and after researching it myself, I agreed that these would fit the bill perfectly and found a nice pair on Ebay for 15.00.

The only "hassle" if you could call it that was that the factory bolts wouldn't fit through the eyes of the belts. 10 minutes with a rasp and it was no longer a problem.
