can replacing those things lessen the play in the steering or do you need to totally convert to rack and pinion style stuff or whatever...

Is your setup already power? The center link is a non-wearing part, so replacing it is unnecessary. If you're just rebuilding your power steering, then you can just re-use your existing center link. Not sure about whether a manual center-link works with power though. Check out Ebay as well. If you still want to replace your center link, then find out whether a center link from a 67 with power steering would fit your 69, and I can sell you mine dirt-cheap (as I'm adding a flaming river r&p).

And shifty101easy - besides these items (idler arm, tie-rods, sleeves), the steering box, valve, and cylinder are the more usual culpprits in loose steering, so those may need to be replaced as well.

well before it was manual, then my dad converted it to p/s but over all i checked out cal-mustang.com and they sell their steering rebuild for a lil cheaper, than mustangs plus, i just want to know if the one on cal-mustang.com is life time warranty if not im going to go with mustangsplus grab a track steering rebuild.

also i was going to convert to r&p but i hears there are alot of problems with header clearance especially when you get an adapter for it. cuz i recently took out my 347 (with 550hp) just use for only summer. right now im running a lil crappy 302 from an 82 5.0. its sucks though i cant hardly scare em with my other engine hahah anyways im just concerned if cal-mustangs does life warranty on their steering rebuild.
