Default The headlight tutorial WORKS!! (a little img heavy)

So today I tackled the haze on my headlights using Lex's tutorial from the stangnet forums.

The Advance didn't have 1500 grit sandpaper, so I used 600, 1000 and 2000 grit, then the polishing compound and then the PlastX.

OH MY GOD.
It's 99% better.

Before:

After:

Wet sanding is this girl's new best friend.

I had some condensation trapped in the driver's side light, so I spent a good 10 minutes with the hair dryer and a couple cotton swabs to try and get that out. I got most of it. I'm hoping that the next time I'm running the lights that'll get rid of the rest.

I was seriously jumping up and down after I got done. Those lights really bugged me, and now I saved myself $150.

I'm so looking forward to being able to see at night now.

for anyone else who does this be sure to count your strokes or else youll end up with one brighter than the other[&:].

I did this to my hatchback when I first got it, did miracles.

Been away from the computer for a few days....

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=536689

The more I look at my work, the more I can see a few places where I could have sanded a *little* better, but I'm still incredibly satisfied with the results.
Best of all, I finally got all the condensation out of the driver's side light! Whee!

I just want to sit out on my patio and look at the pretty shinyness now. Not that I didn't before....
