New Owner with Detail Questions
New to the detail world, I usually have someone do it for me but I thought I値l try it myself since I bought the Mustang. I got the car 2 weeks ago and it has a 8/11 build date. I知 sure the paint is cured by now so I guess I can start detailing. I live in WI and unfortunately it値l be my DD. Since its new I think clay or polish is not needed at this point, but a wax may not hurt. I usually take it through a touch less car wash every other week and once a week I use the Maguire痴 quick detailer. Now for the quick detail I see they have three products NXT Generation Speed Detailer, Maguire痴 Ultimate Quick detail, and Quick Detailer. Which one is better?
As for the wax I was thinking of using their spray wax for now since its new paint and then mid winter use a liquid or paste wax. They also have three types of spray wax a NXT Generation Spray Wax, Maguire痴 Ultimate Spray Wax, and Quick Wax. Which of these is better? For mid winter which of their waxes should I use? Liquid or paste? Should I polish prior to waxing in mid winter?

first off, congrats...
i'd put your hand in a very thin plastic sandwhich baggie and see if the surface is even the slightest bit rough...if so, you need to clay, then polish, then you can wax...it doesn't matter what kind of wax you use (liquid or paste)
never think that because it's brand new that you don't need to clay...i work at a ford dealership and when cars are being delivered, they are washed, dried then they put he equivalence to a detail spray and make it shinny...i'll bet if you shine a flashlight on your paint, you will see swirls allover the place...
if you can, i'd invest in a Porter Cable 7424xp to make things go alot quicker for you

OK, I'll look into the Porter cable, surface is still smooth to the touch. What do you think of the spray wax? http://www.meguiars.com/estore/product_list.cfm?sectionname=Consumer%20(Meguiar's %20Brand)>Auto%20Paint%20Care>Car%20Waxes>Spray%20 Car%20Waxes§ionID=11503

i'm 100% bias against meguiars lol, and any other product you can buy over the counter for that matter...but i did use meguiars before and was happy until i made the switch to adams, chemical guys, swissvax, zymol etc...
i'd take a look at chemical guys though...very low price and great stuff
