Will 18's hurt my stang?
Hey guys this is phil again wus up Im getting ready to order my Saleen Replica Rims 18x10's in the Rear and 18x9's in the Front will this Slow me down or make my engine work any harder because I have the Stock 17's on it right now as we speak will a bigger Rims make me slower or make my engine work harder to spin bigger rims and if i lower it how far would you say to lower the whole car 1 1/2 will I have any rubbing occur if I do that? Rubbing and working my engine harder is my Main Concerns.

if you choose the right tire size it should not make you slower. what will make you slower is the added weight of the wider tires and rims. i beleive the stock tire height of the 17 inch is 25.7 inches. if you use 255/40/18 on the front and 295/35/18 on the back there is almost no tire height difference

I have steeda ultralites(21 or 22 lbs) 18x9s with 285/35/18s(30lbs) on them, they are a few pounds heavier but I get a lot more traction now. How much do the stock 245/45/17 with the wheels weigh?
