I have an appointment at 8am tomorrow at a local garage. I think I'm gonna try and drive it to autozone tonight and see if they can pull any codes (the CEL is not lit though). Its a weird problem but definitely seems to act up worse with a load on the engine like going up a hill.
I think the part you mentioned on the drivers side of the tranny is the range sensor? I crawled under and jiggled the wires and I think it ran worse afterwards.

Actually I had it on the digital speedometer setting and yes its also jumping around. I dropped it off at the local garage and spent $55 on some computer diagnostics and they couldn't find anything wrong. They said no codes were showing up and other than it seemed to shift out of first gear too soon they couldn't find anything wrong. I know it was acting up when I dropped it off and I'm getting discouraged pretty quickly. I'm gonna pick it up tonight and try to get a mechanic to come along on a ride with me and hopefully he will see it acting up.

Oh man I'm really getting sick of this problem. So I drove home this weekend 5+ hour trip and my car ran perfect. Next morning I went to drive into town and while going up a hill at about 55mph the speedo dropped to 0 the started jumping around all over the place. This is the first time the speedo acted up while cruising at 55.Then I noticed the Overdrive light on the dashboard was blinking and I thought to myself of ****. But as soon as I crested the hill the light went out but then came on again at the next hill with the speedo going haywire again. It did this on three hills right in a row and then the rest of the day acted normal. So of course I drove straight to autozone and had them pull codes, and guess what no freaking codes! Now I'm getting worried about my trip home tomorrow and I hope someone has some insight on this.

I've checked the fluid and a local shop has checked it out and said it looked good. I drove home yesterday (5 hour drive) and my car didn't act up once. So I guess I'm just gonna drive it till a code sticks or the faulty part/sensor finally breaks. I personally think its a bad connection somewhere because it doesn't act up all the time.
