I wouldn't and probably you shouldn't but someone will.
That someone will be a business that car fix that car for cheap enough so they can place it back on the market for a profit.
Have a friend who has a car lot. At auctions he is the only one bidding on non running cars. They are typically lease returns or say a 5 -7 year old GM or Chrysler.
He buys them for super cheap. Fixes them and makes thousands on the sale. He is pretty good at knowing common problems like alot of fwd GM's that are not running and it's a trans problem. It's often only a $100 solenoid pack and it's back on the road. Buy an Intrepid with the auto trans locked in 2nd gear. It's often a $30 speed sensor and we're talking $3000 profit on a $500 car.
They just bought a brand new Escalade that fell off a trailer.
It's an 08 with a new fender, doors and paint. Killer deal. Even I thought about that one for myself.
