Default Meineke car place

Hey I was just curious if any of you have used Meineke for work done and how fair the prices were and how good of a job they did..?
I'm looking at getting my dual exhaust put on but I dont want to pay an arm and a leg for it. I've got a $20 off any service over $150 coupon for them so that's already $20 cheaper. Just curious on who all has used them and what you guys thought of their work and prices.
I would just go to the shop but it's 2 hours from my house and they wont give me an over-the-phone estimate, but he said I could make an appointment and go up there and get an estimate and get it done the same day if I want. But I thought I'd check with you all and see first what you thought of them

I am a new guy here but my opinion of all the chain muffler/brake shops is that they rip you off.

Not sure if you are buying the exhaust and having them install it or you are buying the exhaust from them.

Shop rates around here are around 75$/ hour for locals. I don't think it should take much more than 2 hours to replace an exhaust.

I would prefer to:
a) Invest the money in tools and do the job myself.

or

b) Find a local guy to do the job. I would never drive 2 hours unless it was for a mechanic I knew and trusted.

It depends on the individual shop, its employees and the manager. Each chain is still only as good as the people that work there. Just like any shop.

I would say find a mom and pop shop as they tend to be cheaper; that is to say my exhaust was only $90 for full trues welded in.

Fellows, if you go to Meinieke make sure your exhuast is legit. I took my car to the local Meineke shop and when the guy saw I wasn't running cats he all most had a heart attack.

They will heckle you about aftermarket exhaust and overcharge you for the privilege. Do yourself a favor...find a local exhaust shop and take it there, you'll be happy you did. My favorite exhaust place is a run-down old gas station with about 20 junk cars parked out front...does an excellent job and charges a fair price.

I wouldn't go to Meineke its all a numbers game for them, they're all about sales figures and budgets. just the nature of corporate America. I agree finda local shop who cares of his customers.
