What's the best Clutch ??
Hello all,
I have a 67 Mustang with a T5. The motor is a 347 crate, Dyno came in at 410 hp / 438 lbs. Torque. Rear Gear is a 4:11
I went to my local parts store and bought a "Stock" clutch / Disc set up.
However at roughly 4500 rpm I can hear it squealing and sounds to be slipping..
What should I be using for the street?

I can't speak on a stock T5 clutch's capacity but the exedy stage one clutch kit for Fox Bodies http://www.americanmuscle.com/exedy-...-kit-8695.html
is only rated to 430lbs at the flywheel so I'm sure you're well past the recommended range of a stock clutch. If you want it relatively comfortable and butter smooth I'm not sure what your options are, but here's another Exedy kit rated for 498 lbs of torque http://www.americanmuscle.com/exedy-...h-8695-50.html
Hopefully someone with high-horsepower experience rolls through here to get you some better recommendations, but single disc clutches are your best bet to avoid brutal shifts if it's a daily

I love Spec clutches. I run a stage 3+ in my car. Its a full face kevlar disc and has some good bite to it. Dont be scared of the stage rating. They are very easy to drive on the street. Id buy another one in a heartbeat.
