Ok so what all of you are saying is that if you dont care about milage and all you want your stang for is weekend driving and smoking a few Super charged Hondas off the road then you should go with a 4.10 rear end. I am facing a similar situation. I yanked a 4 cyl from a 88 coup, bought a 302 roller motor and I am rebuilding it as of now. Once complete I will move on to rear end and Trans. What about the trans? FYI I will also swap computer tech info for stang tech info.
Thanks

MORE THAN LIKELY YOU HAVE AÂ*7.5 REAR END AND I WOULD RECOMEND THAT YOU CHANGE IT OUT FOR AN 8.8 REAR.Â* THE GEARS ARE PROUBALLY 2.73.Â* I WOULD GO BACK WITH SOME 3.55 BECAUSE YOU WULL NOT HAVE ANY OVERDRIVE UNLESS THIS IS JUST GOING TO BE A RACE CAR.
Who has a 7.5 rearend? Not tchamber....not in a '95GT

and i am confused on the gears....when i buy:http://www.mustangtuning.com/v6gears.html

What about on a 2001 GT? I do drive about 45 minutes to get to work, but I don't mind too much. Gas mileage already sux, so what can I do to at least give my buddies formula 1 trans am some competition?
so...gears really are worth it huh? i will really feel it? i know you get better acceleration, but overall, best mod for v6? besides supercharging...which i already said was stupid

Your shift points stay the same but will come up much quicker.
BTW, I was reading your signature and.......I think your 85mm MAF and 75mm TB are a little much for the little mods you have.
You're going to need those 4:10's to get your bottom end back.
