Default supercharger question

if i slap aS/C on my '07 GT, would5W-20 synthetic oil suffice or would i need to go to thicker weight(i.e...5W-30 etc)?

To be honest, I think (me and a few others, this isn't a universal opinion), it would be a good idea to go for the higher viscosity oil anyways.

Apparently in the South American continents, the manual reccomends 5w-30. The reasoning behind this is that in the US, Ford uses 5w-20 to eek out some extra gas mileage. Or something.

Either way, I use 5w-30 as my car sees relatively little highway use and a fair bit of abuse.

If you really want to be safe, talk to the manufacturer of the Supercharger and see what they have to say.

I asked my Service Manager at the Roush dealer,and he said 5w20.or void the warranty.My supercharger was dealer installed.

on all of the cars we have ever done we suggest 5w20 motorcraft syn blend

So they test the oil's viscosity at the dealer now? give me a break

they wont know what you put in the engine

5w-20. Called whipple to see what they recommend and they said just to stick with the same weight.
