Default How to CEL codes?

I just got a CEL today and I was wondering how would I figure out what code I thrown. Im a new Mustang owner, my other car I just turn the key 3 times and it would tell you the code near the speedometer. Thanks!

With all the mods you have I'm assuming you have a handheld tuner (XCal or Predator). There should be an option in either one to read CEL/DTC/MIL codes. I know the XCal can read and clear them; I'm assuming the Predator can too.

Yes thanks got it I threw a P0430 code which is Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2). I think maybe the best fix for this is to buy a or/x midpipes I don't have sniff tests in my state.

Here's a link for OBD-II codes.

No state has sniff tests for OBD II cars, they hook up the inspection computer to the OBD port and a check engine light or emissions equipment turned off is an instant failure. There are a few reasons why P0430 will come up and a lot are easy to check over and make sure they're not causing it.

Do a search on that code (and P0420).
If you get the code and have to pass inspection, you should be able to 'get by' to get inspected. First, clear any codes using your handheld. Then, drive the car once or twice, wait until the next day, then drive to the inspection. You shouldn't get the P0430 or 0420 until you get at least 3-4 drive cycles...then the code will come on. (I've lived with such codes for 2 years and have been able to get inspected.)
