Default Stalling during downshifting

Is this normal. At 80mph and running about 3Krpm on 5th gear everytime I downshift and hit the gas pedal the car seems to stall for about a second or two before you can feel the car pick up and go.

Can anybody help please?

Oddly enough, I had that very thing happen to me a couple of days ago, just a little lower in speed. Was doing about 60ish, downshifted to 4th to pass, and it was almost like the traction control kicked in. Car fell flat on it's face. I lifted, then hit the fuel again and it went away.

This exact thing has happened to me about 2-3 times since May. It doesn't always happen though and when it did happen, I didnt' do anything differently from the other 99.9% of the times when I drop it into 4th and gun it on the highway. Weird.

Would that have anything to do with the IAT sensor?

I think - - - It has to do with the Drive by Wire.... when your alreay cruising above 50... and suddenly mash the peddle, the computer has to recalcuate all the parameters BEFORE making any adjustments... so you "wait" while the computer does it's thing and opens the throttle.

Sometimes - there is something to be said about the good old fashoned mechanical analog way ot controling an engine!

Is there anything the X-Cal2 can do to fix that. Or any aftermarket stuff??
