CAI and Tuner

Any of the tune-required CAI's are equivalent in performance. Be more concerned about the tune since the tune is about 80% of the gainer of the CAI & tune combo.

The CAI doesn't determine how much air goes into engine,
the throttle body does that.
The reason a CAI with a larger MAF tube needs a tune is
because for any TB blade position the air flow thru a bigger
tube is slower, which the PCM sees as less air in and cuts
back on fuel that causes lean condition. The tune resets the
MAF A/F tables to correct this.
The power gains you see are from timing changes for different
octanes.
If you read the adds for "No Tune CAI" you will see them say
"Up to 3-5hp" which is about the tolerance of back-to-back
dyno runs, and hard to feel with butt dyno.

JLT is also a tuneable CAI. With the tuneable CAIs, its all pretty much about which one you like the best because they all put out about the same performance.

All that matters is you get an intake that requires a tune. Most of the guys on here probably run steeda, c&l and JLT so whichever one you can get for a deal would be the best choice in my opinion.

As for the gas mileage, a CAI and tune is probably like getting less-restrictive exhaust- on paper it gives you better gas mileage, but it sounds so good you cant keep your foot off the accelerator. Its probably similar to the CAI/tune- might increase your gas mileage, but the power gains would keep your foot on the pedal.
