Sounds like you got a great deal, congratulations. You should see your mpg increase as the car gets broken in (5000 miles or so)

Thanks for the warm welcome! Happy to be here (legitimately...no more lurking lol).

Funny thing you should bring up the interior! I have done SO much research on these cars and knew I wanted a base model black 6mt GT with black interior... We did a dealer search and found 3. Car 1: 85 miles away. Car 2 (mine) 170 miles away Car 3: also had 3.73 gears which I wanted but it was 290 miles away. The dealership wanted an extra 300 on top of the negotiated deal to go get the car. Seeing as how the gears are a 400 dollar option this made the gears cost 700 bucks. I decided against it as I can buy and have the gears installed for that price down the road if I so choose. I wanted car 1 but found that it sold the day we called about it. This left car 2 (my car). I looked over the sticker and it looked good so I pulled the trigger.

I got handed the keys and walked up to the car to find the Tan interior!!! My heart sank and I totally felt like crap thinking how badly I wanted black and black!!! This was obviously my fault as the sticker said the interior color and I overlooked it. At that point I realized unless I cough up a LOT Of coin to trade this car with the 3.73 car I was stuck with this car. After looking at it the color is actually nice...Its a nice contrast to everything else being black. After driving the car for 2 days I can honestly say I have totally forgotten about the interior as this car is way too much fun to drive to worry about the color of the cloth! Plus everyone I have showed it to said the contrast is very nice.

Overall I am a very happy camper

Now I need for two things to happen:
1. nicer weather
2. Get her broken in

So that the best thing can happen: MODS

For those of you who have added gears (3.73) to a 3.31 car (or have driven 3.31 and 3.73 back to back). How would you rate the increase in acceleration? Is it more than, equal to or less than the difference you get from installing intake and tune? I know I will be doing the intake/tune this spring and I might spring for the gears if its worth it (figuring a ~600 dollar installed cost).

lol not too bad of a deal I guess. A financial planning session would probably do me a lot of good. well maybe not AFTER the GT purchase, too late!
