I have a brand new 2012 mustang gt six speed manual. In the last two months the following has happened twice. I have been driving the car for around 30 mins in a normal way,no hard acceleration or anything. The ac is tuned off. The heater randomly comes on full blast for about 5 seconds. 88 degrees F appears on the radio station screen in two places in large font. Is this something do with engine cooling? My engine temp gauge is at normal running temp when this happens Does anyone know what this is?

Does your car have the automatic temp control? I checked out the Owners Manual at Ford for the 2012, it shows a diagram for dual zones and the temperature in two places.

This might just be a matter of the temperature needing to be set to your preference.
