How Much HP/TQ Can a 05-07 GT Transmission Handle?
#12
Didn't you post a link not to long ago for things that start to fail at higher HP for our cars? It was a link to a performance company that had extensive experience in Mustangs. They documented for instance that at 400hp in an auto, the solenoids may give and that at 425 wrist pins start to get strained in the stock motor....?

I know you're probably talking about the 5 speed manual but I heard the automatic can handle a lot. Which was interesting why they dropped the same auto into the V6. I have read on this forum that the manual v6 transmission was mearely a Ford Ranger transmission so basically purchasing the automatic in that vehicle was a better way to go, and probably more so for mods.
sounds like a lot of work to me if you need to do work to the transmission after you had possibly overhauled an entire nearly brand new engine to get it over 500 horse. I see plenty of people on these forums with aroun 425hp/400tq and they are happy with it. I wouldn't bother going over 400tq imho, who needs it unless you are 100% all dragstrip/raceway then I can understand.
