Scary stuff guys, mine hasn't reached that point yet. Today, i used my lap top and scanned the car(cel is still on for p0340 and has been on longer then usual) there was a code also in there for an o2 sensor low circuit. I checked with the lap top for the voltage of the two o2 sensors in the car as well as the short term fuel trim for them and they seem to be working as normal. So could the failing alternator be the culprit of random codes going off? Maybe codes that pertain to voltage in certain parts of the car due to bad current flow or failing alternator? My bama tuner(after driving maybe another 20miles or so) did not pick up an 02 sensor code when i plugged that in after, just the p0340. Also, a buddy of mine hooked me up with a remanufactored alternator. Its same as stock, fully rebuild new parts with 1 yr warrentee. Should come thursday. I didn't wanna go that route but Ill take it, ill see how that plays out

Good, old thread. Mine has done exactly the same thing. Codes. Cleared. Drive fine awhile. Codes. Occasional miss. Time to buy an alternator.

Low speed diodes burnt. there are 6 diodes 3 low and 3 high. low speed will always burn out before high speed. Take the cover off the back of the alternator and you will see the burnt areas. Had the same problem 3 years ago on my 06 GT.

FYI, as I 've been told there is no fault code for alternator failure. However the is one for charging error and it is a battery issue.
