Default HELP! Clutch?

Today I took my 2009 gt out for a quick joy ride. When I got to the one backroad I always play on I decided I would try and launch my car. Came to a stop, reved up to 3k, and dumped the clutch. When I dumped the clutch, I heard a very loud squealling noise and I thought it was the tires breaking loose. Then all of a sudden my engine redlined out of nowhere and was bouncing off the rev limiter like I wasnt even in gear. I then smelled something burned/ burning and panicked a little bit because I was worried I hurt my new to me car.
What do you think happened?
Is it likely that I damaged anything?
Has anybody had similar experience with stock tranny?

I got on the ground when I got home (5 minutes later) and could still smell the burnt smell.

Please give me your input,
Thanks

ONE MORE QUESTION:
What happens if you don't dump the clutch quickly enough?

Just a point to add to your other thread, a toasted clutch will significantly lower the value of your car. It's tough to get those big *** tires spinning.

It actually is not tough to spin the big tires as I spin them every time I grab 2 gear.

From a stop, grasshopper. People don't typically roast their clutches catching second.

If you didn't peel out on your tires, the burning smell is most likey your clutch. I am not sure about the rev limiter bouncing, I never experienced that.

I have always wondered what burning money smelled like, I think you now know, probably burnt clutch and/or flywheel, I am guessing
