Trouble code help PLEASE?
I have a 2005 Mustang GT. A days ago it start running like ****, rough idle "chugging". the check engine light was on so I went to Autozone to find out what codes are popping up. I honestly dont know where to start.
p1270 engine rpm/vehicle overspeed condition. operated in a condition deemed detrimental.
P0302 cylinder 2 misfire detected: probable cause faulty plug and wires, vacuum leak, injector fault, hi or lo fuel pressure
P0307 cylinder 7 same info as 0302
P0316 crank sensor condition. probable cause defective crank sensor, wiring to crank sensor. check trigger wheel for damage.
Can i get some feedback/ advice on where to start? i am scratching my head over the P1270 code because it has never been overrevved.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

The P1270 is set because the PCM is constantly comparing RPM and wheel speed. I see you live in Mass; do you recall starting from a stop in ice, snow or mud? If you did, the PCM may have detected the wheel slippage as the car being operated in the wrong transmission gear and set the code.
The common thread between the P0302/7 and P0316 is fuel related - fuel injectors, running out of fuel, fuel quality and fuel pressure. You might have gotten a bad batch of fuel but I suspect more of a hardware related issue. Cleaning your fuel injectors and MAF sensor, changing your fuel filter and checking for any loose vacuum connections at the fuel rail might solve your problem.

thank you for replying. Are these things suited better for an expert to do or easy enough to do at home? I did splurge for better gas and added some fuel injector cleaner to it. should i pull the #2 and#7 plugs and replace those too?

All those codes may be related to a bad crank trigger however its rare those fail. Have you reset the ECM?? Make sure you don't have any ice build up on any reciprocating parts like wheels and drive shafts etc...
