Default My 1988 Ford Bronco II 4.0L Winter Truck

Well, most my garage consists of Mustang's but since I live in the midwest I have to have something to get me through those long dreadful winters. I always loved the Bronco II's but they didn't have a very good mechanical history so most of them have retreated to junkyards. I decided for winter driving I wanted a vehicle not seen on the roads much and I would say I found it. I think I have seen maybe a few of them all winter. I bought this 1988 Bronco II with a bad engine, rust and very badly faded paint. Go figure, they were known for that. Anyways, to avoid the headache's that the 2.9L engines were I swapped in a 4.0L, V6 from a 1994 Explorer. It was quite a bit of work because I had to rewire everything, swap in the donor computer and power distribution box and pretty much everything else under the hood of the Explorer but it was worth it in the long run. I also painted the Bronco II and added aluminum wheels, Mickey Thompson tires and a grill guard. She's come a long ways since I brought her home. Needless to say, it makes an excellent 4x4 in the snow and has been very reliable!
