How can you tell real carbon fiber from plastic with a carbon fiber print on it ... I ordered a part for my car that said that it was carbon fiber and it was not cheap.. Now this part is for my 2014 Shelby and I have some carbon fiber parts on now ,well this new part looks different than what is on the car now, far as the print. Everything says Carbon Fiber but is it really or just plastic that has a carbon fiber print on it ????

Might be helpful if you let everyone know what company you bought it from and post a pic of the part.

You have to be careful China is the master on counterfeit parts some are just common plastic with a single ply of dyed fiber glass as the outer skin also as a Boeing 787 composite repair Tec carbon fiber is plastic the true definition is CFRP that is Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic and it needs to be painted as CFRP degrades when exposed to UV.

Drill through it. Or sometimes check the back for fiber weaves etc
