V6 to V8 swap
I have a 2007 v6 and found a 2007 gt wrecked but everything as far as engine and drivetrain are good. ECU and all that jazz for 3000. car has no title but i dont care cause the stuff is going in mine anyways. Should I do it? I think so and I dont think there is anything extra I will need thats not already in the GT. Any opinions? Anything else I should need?

You're going to need more than the power/drive train. I recently evaluated converting a 2012 V6 automatic to a Coyote 6-speed. I figure going from a 4.0 to a 4.6 will be pretty much the same as far as affected systems are concerned. Here's a link (as much to remind you about the affected systems as to give you an idea of how much it will cost).
V6-toCoyote Swap
Since you'll have a reasonably complete donor car, you've got the advantage of having most of the stuff you need to make the swap.

If the GT you bought is complete then you have everything needed as long as you have time and a space to do it in. best case would be to just strip yours down to a shell and install everything from the donor car into your shell.

I am in the process right now I just got the engine today. I am having it professionally installed but the biggest problem I have faced is getting every thing together. I will fill you in every Saturday because that is when I will have time to check in.
Honestly buying a gt is much easyer but it most cases it cheaper to swap

He got the donor car for $3k. It's going to be a lot of work, and if he has a day job, it's going to take him months to do, but he's probably going to have to spend very little additional cash to effect the swap, assuming the high-dollar parts are usable. A used GT would cost him at least $15k.

Several members at the Mustang Collective have done the swap, with some detailed steps and what parts you need. Buying a wrecked donor is the easiest way to go because you should be able to get just about everything you need, depending upon the damage on the donor.
Good luck with the swap!
