the way that you sit and smoke them is to get the RPMs up, as stated, then dump the clutch, which will get them smoking...then hold the brake down with your other foot, and feather the throttle to keep them spinning...

I figured it out in my stock 06 v6 mustang auto, just take out your abs fuse and rev up in 1st gear. I used the power break method. But make sure you put it back b4 you do any driving on slippery stuff.
