Default Best bang for the buck

Ok, not so start an opinionative nightmare, but which generation mustang do you all think gives the best bang for the buck so to speak? I am lookling to buy a mustang as soon as i can sell my truck. I have maybe 15000 max to spend so obviously im limited on my options, but what do you guys think? Im leaning towards the fox body for price/performance, but man i really like the 99-04 body style...

You areabout to start an opinionative nightmare. Depends on what your looking for, daily driver, or a summer ride. I myself like the foxbodies. I have a 1 from each generation except the current 05-08 generation and the Mustang II. My fox is a better ride than my 72, but the 01 is a better ride than my fox. The thing is, asI was growing upfoxbody's were everywhere, they were new so I would say go with the foxbody. You could get a good 1 for less than 1/2 of that 15K and still have ca$h left over for a truck.

I would assume by "best bang for the buck" you're meaning to mod the car up and do some performing with it......yes? If so, you can't beat the Fox. You can find a near prestine Fox and build a 11-12 sec street rod for 15K easy. Finding a good condition New Edge GT will eat at least half of your spending budget.....or more, depending on the year you go with. And then you'd have to invest in a forced induction setup to get some serious numbers out of the 2V 4.6

On the other hand, if you just want a nice Mustang with some decent go.......you could probably secure a New Edge GT and invest in some bolt-ons. Just depends on what you're looking for out of this future car.

thanks for the input. This is where i am torn. It wont be a daily driver, just a summer car since i live in ohio in the snow belt. But im torn between pulling the front end off the ground and comfortable cruising. If i can get RELIABLE power from a 99-04(enough to toast a z06 vette) for 15k or even 20k (loan), then i would definitely do so. But there is nothing like pulling up next to a stuck up fool in his daddys vette, then pulling the front end off the ground and making him pee his pants. So there its folks, if anyone has a 99-04 that can eat up a vette, lemme know what youve done to it and if you think its feasible for my price range.

Fox body w/out question. A New Edge is going to take most of your funds, and they don't respond to mods for ****. The 5.0, on the other has practically limitless support and potential.....
