The camaro will own an audi s5. The camaro's numbers haven't been released but challenger and camaro have similar hp and the camaro is 200lbs lighter. The challenger runs 13.1, the camaro has at least be the same if not faster. The S5 runs 14.2. The S5 handling is lousy too. Thus the engine change in late 11 for the 2012 model year... At that point the 3.6 engine in the Camaro will look anemic compared to a TT Direct Inject 3.5L from Ford putting out 340+ HP up to 400HP depending on how Ford does the Mustang lineup.

The Mecury MKS will already have this 3.5L engine starting in lat '09 with 340hp or more. That same motor will also be used in the F150 and other models as Ford phases out the 4.0L and even some of the V8s for the V6 configuration.

Every OEM lags a couple of years to a competitor, BMW, Mercedes, and Audi play the same game. One takes a step/leap forward, makes the other two look dumb for a year or two then someone else takes the lead or the same one takes another leap.

I really don't like the new camaro at all...I think they tried a little too hard and ended up making it awkward looking.

the new challenger is a beautiful car. Mustangs my first choice but that challenger is beautiful.
Ford and Dodge nailed it cause they aimed for a classic look and simplicity....Chevy doesn't seem to be goin in one direction with this one.

Ya and it also beat a Challenger SRT8 around the track, no use trying to knock it for losing to the new SS/TC, they are beasts.
