save your money, you have a long life ahead of you. just having a mustang at 16 is plenty cool enough. trust me you will feel better buying a brand new GT when your 22 years old and graduated from college. you will likely have enough money to add plenty of options to the GT at that time. so why not?

besides if you put that super charger on your v6. unless you plan on lying to your insurance company......they will drop you. trust me.

Yeah I agree with the saving. I worked my butt of to get an 03 Mach1 my junior year of high school and while I love her to death and wouldnt trade her for anything I could definitely use that money now for much more practical and useful things. Save the dough and get you a GT when you're in a better position for it

I would save the money if I was you but it's really your choice. As far as being ready for the GT at a certain age; I had a 71' 340 Dodge Demon when I was 16 and I didn't have a problem with it (and trust me I didn't drive like a grandma either). Some people can handle/respect that kind of performance car at an early age and some cannot (even when they get older). Everyone who's talked about insurance is right on the money (literally). Do your homework, but I think when you do your going to see how expensive it can get. Good luck whatever you do, and don't be too impatient. I finally got back into a musclecar after about a 15 year absence (I'm 40 now - kids change everything!). It was a long wait but, now I have more "disposable" income, insurance is cheaper and it was just the right time for me. Good luck on your decision!

College will suck a lot of money from your account. I got lucky and bought my gt from my uncle who could no longer drive it due to the fact he has MS in his left leg and could no longer press the clutch. He obviously gave it to me for next to nothing other wise I still would have no mustang.

passing it on to a family member is always a special thing. I may only have an 07 V6 pony pkg but i really hope it holds up well over the next 5 years before i get a truck to drive daily. im hoping to keep my mustang and mod it. either put a v8 in it or super charge the 6. anyway.......id like to do some special things to it and keep it my entire life. and one day if i have a son, pass it on to him.

we shall see i guess. my point is you can turn even a cheaper mustang into something special to the family.

Yeah I was more than happy to take it off his hands. Even though it was his DD for a while he still took great care for it. It is nice to keep it in the family, plus I'v wanted a mustang since I was about 4 lol.
