Its about a big v8, RWD, straight axle, and slamin gears, roastin tires, and smokin ricers. AWD TT??? thats some European expensive bull that although sweet, not American muscle.
1969 called.... It wants its opinions back.
J/K. I'd be interested to see a TT v8 platform as well but really, Ford is probably light years away from that. Being that the 4 and 6 cylinder models with ecoboost they're developing are based off of the existing duratec engines. I think to develop a direct injection turbo system atop a 3V/4V V8 is a totally different animal. And will likely reflect that in the price for all the extra R&D that would be needed.
and if i wanted an AWD TT V6, i'd just buy a 2010 SHO, not a mustang.
that would be sweet! but i think it's going to be one or the other.
i hope it's the 5.0
how do u figure? both engines are already made. there's no reason to not get both of them in the stang. mustang cant continute to have a v6 with 210hp. and v8 is being destroyed by 120 more hp.
when i was at the last ford media event (f150 launch) i spoke with one of the drivetrain engineers about the ecoboost V6. he said that there were no immediate plans for the trucks, but there were "a bunch" of V6TT F150s running around. he also told me that it was his understanding that the engine would find its way into the mustang, but there were also no immediate plans.
In the 80's, Ford shoved a turbocharged 4 banger into the Mustang and called it an SVO. I think a modern SVO option with the Ecoboost twin turbo would be a nice addition to the mustang line-up. It's not my cup-o-tea, but it would sell well if it got the MPGs.
wouldnt mind having it as an option but only as long as there is still v8 options like a gt and cobra, and i would still rather have a v8 because you can always TT it and TTv8>TTv6
