Default Ecoboost twin turbo V6 in a Mustang?

I read today that the guy in charge of the twin turbo ecoboost engine at Ford believes that present Mustang owners believe the only performance engine type we will ever want is a V8. Now I love V8s and supercharging as well, but I like the idea of a 350 HP direct injection V6 turbo getting 28 mpg on the highway. What do you v8 guys think?

Also does anyone know if there is a plan to replace the replace the current V6 with the naturally aspirated 3.5 direct injection V6? Should be good for close to 300 hp.

how about a turbocharged direct injection ecoboost v8? if they can do it to a 6 why not an 8? that should be good for 400 +hp.

I don't have anything against a V6 that makes 350hp and excellent mpg, I think it's awesome. It's just that when you think of an American muscle car you automatically think V8. That's how it's been done for decades and seeing that change just isn't something we want to happen.

^Nothin has to start.

I would like to see a TT in the V6 stang. It would offer a great power solution for the V6 platform, and would be great on the MPG's.

Not too great as far as milage for a v6 but for that power its not bad. I can get 30 highway on my stock gt. Not saying i would drive one, but v8s are so much cooler. And i vote for a TT V8 AWD IRS 2011 mustang. Oh, i also need to win the lottery so i can afford one if they made it.

if ford were to produce these tt v6's where will the price range start? pretty sure ford won't let the v6 out power a gt, so i don't see them costing more

Like was said, V8 has been synonymous with muscle car since the beginning. Switching to a V6 ecoboost would take away a lot of the appeal imho.

But hey im down for a TT V8!

Replace the GT V8 with the TTV6, have a 5.4L Boss mustang, then have the 6.2L supercharged GT500.

AWD... hah thats not a mustang that you're asking for its like an Audi lol. The day muscle cars start coming with TT's and AWD i'll be ashamed. Thats not what muscle cars are all about, IMO anyway. Its about a big v8, RWD, straight axle, and slamin gears, roastin tires, and smokin ricers. AWD TT??? thats some European expensive bull that although sweet, not American muscle.
