New 5.0 DOHC GT to have 425hp?
#41
I am curious to the actual physical size of the motor. How much wider and taller is it than a 4.6? What is the bore and stroke along with bore spacing. It would be nice to have the option to stuff this motor in the older new edge cars without a 3 to 4 inch cowl induction hood...

Rather than create an entirely NEW thread about the new Ford motors and add to the 100s that already exist lol... i'll add this quote from MSN's coverage of the SEMA autoshow.
"Ford F-150 SVT Raptor XT
How do you make one of the year's toughest off-road racers even meaner? You throw in all the equipment that buyers need to tackle some of the world's most grueling race courses — the Baja 1000 and Baja 500. Like the Super Cobra Jet Mustang, the F-150 SVT Raptor XT is designed to be a factory-built, turn-key racer. That's right — you can buy this truck straight from your local dealer. Aside from having a full complement of safety equipment onboard, the truck has more suspension travel than a standard Raptor and makes 500 horsepower from a 6.2-liter V8 engine. Only 50 will be built, and each one carries a $99,950 price tag."
For those wondering if the new 5.0 will even be capable of 400hp which the 6.2l makes 400hp. Well according to this quote the 6.2l(or a varient of it) Will be making 500hp. If a 6.2l 2V motor can make 500hp NA, I don't see why the 5.0 4V should have ANY trouble.
(also considering the 5.0l Cammer makes 468hp)

Lol. I know, but every time I see a thread that says something about new "official" specs, I think back to about 2007 when there was a new thread every week with "official" pics of the 2009 mustang, and every time it was that god-awful Italian concept.

Yea, what an aggravation that was. The pics of that car took FOREVER to get out of mainstream circulation. Truly.......I never understood what ppl saw in that thing.

the price should be goin up nicely for ppl talking about 38k for a loaded gt right now fully loaded can go past 42k easy not cheap by any means and the shelbys are in the 50s already unless u get a base model and that is still like 47 ish
