I, for one, would be happy to see a 4 cylinder back in the line-up. Then not only will Ford be able to play nicer with the world and give me money back in stock price, but also...who even cares if you don't like it.
This is like arguing that priuses shouldn't exist...who gives a s***, it's not like it changes my decision on what car I want to buy....

No one will be forced to buy the I4, so who cares if it's offered? Do people complain that a theater plays a movie they aren't going to see anyways?

As far as a v10, not gonna happen. Actually with the potential resizing of the Mustang the current 5.8 v8 in the Shelby may not fit in the new car.
+1000 I'd watch it too. When does the dvd come out?

This kind of goes back to judging others for how they spent their money.
A 310hp 4 banger is pretty damn impressive so if they did pull it off, hats off to FoMoCo engineers. If you can't respect that (regardless of auto manufacturer), then you're a little narrow-minded.
Look at it this way: how does a 310hp turbo I4 dillute the Mustang name? Surely a 200hp turbo I4 would, but if it can compete with stock 3V 4.6s AND get better consumption, who's complaining?
The archaic V8 or nothing dick measuring contest will never die so long as we have people that refuse to join the rest of us in the 21st century.
Get on the band wagon to progress because the auto industry will keep moving forward. Though, I'm sure there will always be room for the classics so long as oil doesn't hit $10/gallon usd.

"After the introduction of the 4-cylinder engine used in the Model T in 1908, Ford Motor Company became a pioneer and industry leader in assembled cars. Ford started building more powerful engines with more horsepower and better efficiency than could be used in stock cars, trucks and other vehicles. The Ford Model A engine was introduced in 1928; the Ford Model B engine was introduced in 1933. In 1932, Ford introduced the V8 "flathead" engine that became a favorite choice for hot-rodders and car racing enthusiasts.
Other noteworthy engines throughout Ford's history include the Zephyr 6 in 1951; the Lincoln Y-block, an 8-cylinder engine, in 1954; the Super Duty truck engine in 1958; the British Essex V6 in 1967; the Cologne/Taunus V6 in 1964; the Vulcan V6 in 1986; and the Mondeo V6 in 1994. Ford was also responsible for producing the Duratec 25, a 2.5 L engine in 1994 and the Jaguar AJ-V6, a 3L engine in 2000. Ford's only 10-cylinder engine, the Modular V10, was introduced in 1997. The Aston Martin V12, a 12-cylinder engine, was introduced in the early 2000s."

I don't think anyone is talking about their weiners... If we had hydrogen power cars, that would be different, that would be advanced.. turbocharging a four cyl and calling that advanced... When a motorcycle has more cubic inches than your car...
Just wow...
