2004 Boot Cover Needed
I'm know this isn't the correct place for this post but I went to the parts section and couldn't figure out/navigate where to post. Since I'm new to this forum and new to mustang I thought it would be okay to post here.
2 things:
1. What would be the price of a boot cover for a 2004 GT. Called Ford yesterday and was told I would have to buy "aftermarket".
2. Bought this clean car in September with only 72,000+ miles and a pristine carfax record. Dropped the top last Sunday on a whim, and discovered the boot cover doesn't fit. I know I know, the dealer (where I bought it used in September) is going to say "as is" but for because the original owner took care of the car I would think they had the correct and original boot cover. Do I have a leg to stand on asking the dealer to buy or at least subsidize the purchase (half)? I called the dealership where the first owner purchased it to see if they could contact the owner to see if the owner offered it for sale with the original boot cover. Any advice?

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you.
I would like to think the dealer that you bought the car from would like to keep you happy and maybe split the cost. Worth a try at least. They'd rather you go away happy than with a grudge against them.
Good luck

Thanks! I found a thread here yesterday where someone was having trouble getting theirs to fit same year (and model I think) I'm going to dealer and ask to help me put it on, then go from there. What's the downfall of not using boot cover?
