MAF AIR SENSOR HELP!!!!
#21
OK so I took apart the air flow sensor and cleaned it really good I found a broken ground wire (weather I broke it or not I don't know) and resoldered it. Sprayed the shot out of it with mass air cleaner. (Last time I was cautious about it ). Button her back up really tight and BOOM! so far so good..... now I need to go back to the Dyno for him to finish my tune. Now the question I have is. Does the brand of MAF on the car matter for certain Dyno shops? Everything running great now minus it's got a half tune done. I'm trying to save myself from getting raped by these guys a second time. (350 to put in a electric boost pump) and 375 for a half tune....

the brand of sensor doesnt matter, as long as it is the correct sensor anybody can tune it. 350 to put in a boost a pump? that doesnt sond like you got raped since the boost a pump parts only runs $250 or so. i have found it ends up costing you less in the long run if you dot try to cut corners. im not sure that your solder job will hold up long term, and i am also concerned that by soldering the wire that you may skew the sensors reading. watch this>>>>>>
and you will see what i mean and how the sensor operates. boosted applications in our cars are susceptable to detonation if the air fuel ratio isnt spot on, and we have no knock sensor to detect it and retard timing, so incorrect AF ratio = detonation = pieces everywhere.
