That's because in order for places like this to carry it they need to be set up with an independent Rep, unlike Castrol who assigns a rep to a certain territory.
Either those stores have never had a rep approach them to sell AMSoil, or more than likely they do not support independent reps.
Actually, Amsoil's policy concerning retail store accounts has a stipulation that can't be bypassed. You can't sell to any corporation or franchise that has more than a 15 store chain. That excludes most auto parts stores and especially Wal Mart. Now if the auto parts store is a franchise, like Napa and the owner has less that 15 stores you can approach them for a retail account. This is to protect dealers and the retail price on Amsoil's website.I guess Amsoil prefers not to have someone with massive buying power driving down the retail prices.

You can say that again, there is a thread at BITOG about excessive cam wear on the 05-09 Mustangs using Mobil 1 oil. It scared me to say the least. Check out the thread here, and read on to see updates. It 40+ pages long and a good read.

No offense to you kind sir, but Mobil 1 isn't what it used to be, as are many other competitive oils. New API certification standards (and others) require new formulation to satisfy tree huggers and catalytic converters. I see a strong correlation with high end NON-certified synthetics and a reduced wear pattern. The non-certified products make it the way they KNOW it SHOULD be.
Amsoil always said....."Make it the best, or don't make it at all"
I'd also like to add that Mobil 1 hasn't been a true group IV/V synthetic for a long time. They use group III base stocks now.
