lincoln 351??
What year Lincoln is it?All the blocks are the same, but the heads and intakes are different,it all depends on how much of the original engine you are going to keep. The best long block from the factory is probably in the older Lightining pickups, they have the best heads from the factory.

The 351 would be great in your car. It has about 50 more horses than the 5.0 and can take a bunch more power. You'll need a few things to do the swap though. Dropped motor mounts, different headers, a couple of pulleys to align them all up right. About all the the neccessary parts you can get from FRPP. Put that in and a 100 shot on it, you'll have a great start. Plus MOST of the parts for the 5.0 will work on the 5.8L.

The hp in a stock 351 is about 30 less than a 5.0 HO motor, but it has about 50 lbs more torque. A descent cam / intake/ carb / exhaust combo would easily get you 350+ hp out of a really cheap engine build. As far as stuffing it in a stang, you will need a rear sump oil pan (get one from a mid 70's 4wd Ford truck 351w or from ford racing), conversion motor mounts (or 2 pass side mounts from a mid 70's FE motor plus a 1" spacer... I think thats right) and conversion long tube headers (or any 5.0 shorty headers with a slight adjustment to the h-pipe).

That pretty much sums it up. The 351w takes pretty much the same parts as a 5.0, like heads, cam, etc. Intake is different as are some other parts because the 351w is a little wider. I hope that helps.

My sources say that in 88/89 there was a 232 V-6 and 302 V8 offered. No 351. The Town car had a 150hp 302 and the Mark7 had the HO 302 with 225hp.
The last Lincoln 351 was in 1980 which was an optional engine on the Continental and Mark 6. It put out a whopping 140hp. Woot.
I dunno man, I'd personally skip it, unless it was dirt cheap and you were going to strip it and have it built.
