Default Off Road to Catted Question

I currently have a BBK Off-Road H-Pipe thats about a year old. I have to get my car inspected now so therefore I need to get some cats put on. So here is my question, I have one of two options.

1. By cats (probably the ones produced by pypes) and get them welded in. The cats alone would cost $180 + the cost to get them welded in on my Off-Road H-Pipe.

2. I could by the Pypes Catted X-Pipe that is all stainless still for about $300 and sell my old H and get what I can for it.

Which one option do you guys think would be better.

Default RE: Off Road to Catted Question

This is a situation similar to mine. I am glad I thought about it though before I got as far as you...what I mean is that I have the Pypes muffler delete on mine. I just ordered a Bassani high flo catted x pipe that is coming in today. I went ahead and bought the catted one so I would not be put in that same dilemna.

Iwould talk to some people, see what you might could get for the H, depending on how long you haveuntil you get your car inspected. I can honestly say that what I would do is just buy a new mid pipe. That is just me though, I know there willbe differing opinions.$180 for the cats, when you can buy a wholenother midpipe foronly 120 more...but some will say that the Pypes is not good, I have had a lot of Pypes stuff in the past and never had a complaint. Your choice though.

If you want to continue to run O/R, a Bassani or SLP X pipe is a bolt together setup so cats can be installed and removed easily. Just something to think about. Or see if your exhaust shop can install a set of converters using exhaust clamps instead of welding.
